January….it’s below zero and Katie and I are hoping on a plane to warm, sunny, tropical Mexico! :) The Rivera Maya to be exact!!!! :) Our goal was to soak in some sun-rays, enjoy some kid-free time, and eat some of our favorite Mexican cuisine! :) Jeanna and Adam invited us to fly down and share in their special day on the beaches of the Azul Sensatori resort with the ocean waves crashing and the tropical drinks flowing! :)
Honestly, there couldn’t be a better couple to celebrate in a tropical way…..with laid back personalities, ready to capitalize on the amazing views and culture of Mexico, Jeanne and Adam planned it PERFECTLY! :) The girls started out doing their own hair which was adorned with tropical flowers that happened to be picked from bushes that morning while the guys played a rousing game of water volleyball for a few moments! :) Their teal, grey and orange color palette was a sophisticated beach color-scheme that was PERFECTLY paired with the colorful walls of the resort and the ocean backdrop! :) They tied the knot in front of 20 of their closest family and friends who flew down to celebrate and relax themselves! :)
The only bummer thing about the whole trip was when we had to leave…and wouldn’t you know, the moment we landed as MSP, the wind was whipping and the snow was blowing at a balmy 5*! :)

Absolutely stunning!!!! This couple had it right, destination weddings are such a fun idea, especially when it’s winter in WI :) Beautiful job, Emily!! I could almost feel the sand between my toes while looking through these :)

my favorite is definitely the headless bride sitting near window…oh, what light and shadow. O.k….so I just have to say, manual focusing my Mamiya 80 at 1.9 is tricky to say the least. I have way more respect for you and your photos the more I shoot manually with film. Way to go Emily, you are awesome!
Way to go Jeanne and Adam, Now Julie and I are totally hooked on mexico. It was such a great time. Adam is so lucky, I almost didnt let him have you (tears,tears,tears)!!!!! I still get teary eyed looking at all the pics. What a great group of people to be with.It truely was a fantastic time and we are so glad to have been there for both of you. LOVE DAD
