Changes + Maine in the fall! :)

You may notice some changes around my blog today! HOORAY! A huge shout to the talented Zoe and Chris for being so talented to put my ideas into tangible technology! :) I invite you to explore around and click on new buttons, tabs and links. My hope is that they inspire you and make you smile. It’s my goal in 2014 to share more behind-the-scenes, inspirational thoughts and personal ideas that I’m working through as a business owner, mom and wife! :) So, adding these changes is the beginning for me! :) YAY!

This past October, Aaron and I spent our first sans-baby trip traveling the coast of Maine (I ended my portion of the trip with a butt-kicking experience at FIND 2.0 with Jon and Kristen, but more on that later! :)

This trip was a bit of a similie to my life.

What started out as foggy, drizzling days of rainy travel turned into sunshine-filled moments before we left. The fog was beautiful and gave everything its “magical” touch. But as we drove up the coast of Maine, exploring, eating too much Lobster, and taking time for ourselves to rekindle and rejuvenate, that fog lifted. The ocean became clear. The water was blue and bright and sparkling against the fall sunshine! Colors were brighter and more saturated. We could see the curves of the road and watch the waves crash agains the rocks without worry. And the lighthouses were fully visible. :)

A smilie to my life. I never noticed how limiting that fog was until we took time to explore together and find that sunshine through it. Clarity often comes when we’ve been in a place of unrest. And our days in Maine helped me to find more clarity! :)

Balancing the whole :: FIND 2.0 | Emily Steffen . Wisconsin and Minnesota wedding photographer . Textile Artist - […] Aaron and I went to Maine in October….we spent 4-5 days exploring the coast, eating too much lobster and relaxing away from our little Zeke! :) I ended my portion of the trip at the AMAZING Film Is Not Dead 2.0 workshop with Jonathan and Kristen in Portland! :) It was a small group of us hanging out in a beach house on the ocean’s cost hashing out business ideas, sharing struggles and giving advice. I was prepared to leave FIND with a long-list of changes to implement into my business (and while I did end up being inspired about some business changing ideas) what I walked away with was so much more personal than I ever thought! :) […]
