So, I’ve been waiting to blog this wedding for about 100 years (ok….almost a year now, but it seems like 100 to me! :) Dan and Haley get married last May, but I’ve been sitting, patiently waiting for a certain blog to run their feature and the date keeps getting bumped back! So, this morning I woke up and couldn’t take it anymore….I thought the world needed to see Dan and Haley’s amazing, creative and fabulously colored wedding in Wausau last year! :)
When I first started chatting with Dan and Haley, I knew it was going to be an AMAAAAAZING adventure in Wausau! :) They had family flying in from all over, they had the BEST floral/coordinator/designer lined up in upper Wisconsin, she raved about their paper goods (and rightly so) AND I just knew that Haley would be a drop-dead stunning bride. And I wasn’t wrong at all! :) PERFECTION was at the doorstep!
We showed up on a drizzly Saturday in Wausau and plowed right through Haley’s childhood home eager and excited to get started! :) Girls were giggling, photos were being taken, makeup was being applied and the joy and energy was just sky-high that my smile could NOT be wiped off my face! :) Meanwhile, Dan and the guys were casually and calmly getting ready at the Jefferson Street Inn in downtown. One of my favorite moments of the entire day was when Haley, all dolled up from head to toe in her amazing dress and gorgeous veil, started heading out the door for the ceremony, she turned around to wave goodbye to her Mom (who was getting makeup applied) and tears just started streaming. It was a moment that every Mommy-daughter have in their hearts on their big day; a “goodbye Mom…here I go! Off to get married!” Thank goodness for autofocus that day, because my eyes were sure wet! :)
The ceremony came, it was amazing. The photos came, along with a little drizzle, and that was SO FUN! :) And then came the reception! I haven’t seen so much joy and smiles for one couple in my LIFE! They had over 300 people surrounding them with love, hugs, cheering, and celebration all night! And not only that, but Randy, from Evolutions in Design, MADE OVER that ballroom like I’ve never seen it before. It was if we all walked into an enchanting, vintage-filled, outdoor, colorful garden in the middle of a forest! :) The decor was amazing, the flowers were amazing, the light-bulb chandelier over the dance floor was amazing….he was AMAZING! And, although I didn’t know him well, I gave him a GIANT HUG!!!!!!!! His vision transformed this space into a dream wedding! The drizzles outside faded away and the party continued in one of the most gorgeous and creatively decorated room I’ve ever been in! :)
SO…cheers Dan and Haley! Your wedding was outstanding and I will NEVER forget the jaw-dropping moments I had at your big day last May! :) You are one beautiful couple, that’s for sure! :)
