2011 has been…

…a year for AMAZING brides in beautiful dresses with touching vows!
…a year to be reminded over and over and over how fun weddings can be
…a year to make changes and choose family over work. I give myself a pat on the back for walking out of my office *almost* every night at 6pm; so hard but SO worth it! :)
…a year to eat many, MANY pieces of yummy cake (and ice cream and cucakes and dessert tables)…keep ‘em coming brides!
…a year for my first wedding outside of mainland…YAY HAWAII! :)
…a year to focus on myself, my health and my relationship with Aaron! :) And we are both better for it!!!
….a year to travel another 3-days and 60 miles on a journey to end Breast Cancer
…a year to transform a portion of our home into a place to meet clients and dream about weddings together
…a year to experience a humbling award from the editors of Wisconsin Bride Magazine! THANK YOU!
…a year to find out we will be welcoming baby Steffen next June! (WOAH, are we really ready?! :)
…a year to celebrate and plan a PUG party for my Edward, who turned a whole human decade! (a big deal for a pug)
…a year to start dreaming in film!
…a year for new websites, new business and new dreams to come true! Check out my new adventure if you haven’t already!
…a year for more blessings than I even know what to do with. I continue to look at my life and smile. Smile because I believe that I am inspiring others and smile because with hard work, dedication and making people happy along the way, my life is really what I’ve been dreaming about. Truly, it is! I am blessed and 2011 is SO EVIDENT of that! I look forward to a huge and changing year of 2012. I have 25 amazing weddings planned with downright fabulous couples, I have 2 amazing workshops that I am through-the-roof excited to attend, I have a new baby to welcome in June (again, WOAH!), and more importantly I have a husband and 2 pugs that will be right by my side, holding my hand and encouraging me with smiles and kisses! :)

YAY 2012. I love fresh starts and I plan for this year to be wildly exciting and full of creativity! :)

The Kesstersons!

When Jess contacted me to do some family photos for her amazingly, adorable family I just couldn’t resist! :) Usually, in the busy-ness of weddings I don’t have much time to squeeze in too many portrait sessions, but when she “pitched” the idea that we should decorate a little tree for part of it, my smile grew HUGE from ear to ear! :) You see, Jess is one of those people that is WILDLY creative and can anything with a sewing machine, knitting needles, paper, glue, glitter, beads…..you name it, she can do it! And her talent doesn’t’ stop there…her and her husband, Jeff, are running a fabulously successful photography business! They have grown about 400% over the past year and have potential beyond what they can even see. I just know they are going to “go places” with the creativity and I love watching it happen! I have a feeling that their little Graham may pick on some of this talent and be wildly creative himself…can’t wait to see that! :)

I mean, aren’t they just adorable?!?!? I kinda, secretly, want to be a part of their family! :)

Krystal (the cutest pregnant lady around)!

From the first e-mail inquiry to the hugs that we shared when we met, I got an instant sense that Krystal if full of love and full of life! Not only is she an ADORABLE pregnant lady, but she is an amazing Mommy! In the short time that I was with her and the kiddos I got to see just how wide her love is for her kids and just how large her love is for her business. Her talents stretch far beyond rock-star Mom to amazing small-business owner and photographer. It’s no secret that she can conquer the world in just one day; from balancing client e-mails to dirty diapers and laundry to lens choices and editing! She is beyond a super-woman and she is adding one more kiddo to the mix! Not only is this kid lucky to have a Mommy like Krystal, but he/she is lucky to see just how amazing life can be when you bring together your two loves: business and family! :)

Krystal, you are AMAZING and I am SO SO SO SO thrilled that I was able to do this for you! :) I can not wait to hear about the newest kiddo and watch your magical photographs unfold as they grow! :) Hugs to you my friend!
