The things I can’t live without! :)

Listed in no particular order! :)

*My journal - a place for me to dream and dream big. Some of my favorite moments and ideas happen on those pages when I’m being real and “EMILY!” The idea to start a business happened on the pages of my journal. The challenge to make the leap out of a full time career starts on the pages of my journal. And the love story between Aaron and I is documents on MANY pages in my journal! :)

*The pugs (and Aaron too) duh!? My favorite 3 living things on this planet!

*Growing and picking vegetables from my garden – And I should add “attempting to cook with these vegetables” (although my efforts are often in vain) :) The joy of producing something completely from seed that is nutritional and fortifying to our health is so rewarding to me! It fires me up and almost (and I stress ALMOST) makes me want to become a farmer in the middle of Wisconsin and live solely off the land. But what would I do when I needed to run to Target? :)

*Amy Butler (and Anna Maria Horner) – both ladies make me smile. Their patterns and designs are out of this world and they cultivate creativity in me like few other artists! Their work is always stunning and I generally have yards and yards of their fabric in my craft studio! LOVE!

*Walking – I used to go on walks with my parents all the time when I was younger. Often it was to pick black raspberries or just work off our evening family meal, but it was still a family time. Now, it has become a time for me to breathe in fresh air and clear my head. With each step my smile usually gets bigger and bigger! :)

*Ice cream – Always, always, always my dessert of choice. And sometimes breakfast of choice (should I be ashamed to admit that?)

*The light at sunset – It’s magical, it’s golden and it’s hands down my favorite! The golden rays that beam through the clouds or over the horizon….perfection! If I could have this light for every wedding, my life would be made.

*Making sun tea outside in the summer – I’m fascinated by it. I love it and I could drink it all day long. We often have a jug in our fridge day after day in the summer; so refreshing and yummy!

*A good chick-flick on a snowy winter day – You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Julie and Julia….the list goes on and on. What is better than a snowed-in afternoon and a great movie on the tube? Oh, and maybe add a cup of hot tea too! :)

*The rolling hill of Wisconsin – I love living in the Midwest. I believe it is one of the most beautiful places on earth! :) I drive through the rolling hills of Wisconsin and feel like I am in a postcard; the giant, white, fluffy clouds aimlessly floating in the saturated, baby blue sky with the slight breeze as it blows the tall green grass through the fields! I dream daily of our farmhouse perched on top of a hill surrounded by this beautiful scenery! :)

Hello!

My name is Emily and I am an artist; WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER by day and FABRIC ARTIST by night. Here, you can follow my creative journey and perpetually see what I'm up to! I try to infuse joy in everything I do; from sewing to knitting and photography! You’ll generally see a giant smile on my face because I am overjoyed about living the life where the dreams that I once doodled about are coming true! I'm a midwestern girl that loves people, my sewing machine, our two pugs Edward and Gweneth and every flavor of ice cream (you can even bribe me with it at times! :)

I'd love to hear from you, so feel free to contact me at any time! :)
